These trips always start off the same way: everyone packs carefully, trains diligently and considers the possibilities
thoroughly. The fact is, five miles in to a trip like this and you begin to wonder what you've done with your precious
vacation time. The South entrance into Desolation Wilderness from Twin Bridges proved to be a fine but challenging
start for everyone. We climbed over 2,000 feet up the Horsetail falls shortly after noon and made a comfortable
camp at Aloha Lake.
